My office is now fully virtual.

All conferences are done via zoom unless we need to go over something in person and then we can meet at a convenient location - sometimes the courthouse, sometimes a library.
What is Legal Coaching?
The concept of legal coaching has been around a very long time. The idea is that you can hire a lawyer for an hourly rate who will assist you in how to present your matter in a professional manner in Court. No Huge Retainers; No Long time commitments. It's your case. But when you get before a Judge, you need to have some ideas on how best to proceed. I can help you. I've been practicing 37 years and most of that has been before the Court. Call me for more information.

So you've chosen to mediate? Do you still need a lawyer?
The short answer is yes. A mediator's job is to get everyone to "yes" and many of the mediators in the area do a great job. However, before you can agree to anything, you should be fully aware of your rights and obligations. Once you know what they are, you can agree to anything if you want.
Getting a lawyer as review counsel is a worthwhile expense. He or she can explain to you the law and how it may work in your specific case, what other options you may have and how an agreement can affect you in the future.
Review counsel is a reasonable and affordable insurance for you to know that when you sign that agreement, it is in your best interest under the circumstances that then exist. Call me.

LIMITED SCOPE APPEARANCES
A new concept has been available in the family law arena for about a year and can be of great assistance.
Sometimes you only need an attorney to handle a limited issue in your case. In other words, you don't want to pay a huge retainer to have them negotiate your entire divorce, but only want them to argue alimony during the pendency of the action. You can hire an attorney to do that. Our office is willing and able to provide that single service at a fraction of the cost of representation.
This is also known as unbundled representation. Although it is always a good idea to have an attorney working with you on the issues of a divorce or custody matter, it can be very expensive. Breaking it down to the specific sometimes more difficult issues allows you to spend money (and sometimes be able to deduct it!) where you really need it.
Contact us if you would like to review specific troublesome issues in your otherwise friendly divorce.

Are you looking for aggressive representation with a heart? Look no further.

I've been practicing law, mostly in the family law area, for nearly 35 years.

I pride myself on being "real" - telling you what you need to know and not what you want to hear.
My goal is to share the legal skills that I have with others to obtain a reasonable and fair result. In the process, I would like to guide clients through what is usually a most difficult time in their life. Of course it is not charity - I do that in other ways - but I believe that a reasonable legal fee for professional assistance should be the norm.
I am a practical attorney and understand that there is a real need for reasonably priced legal services that get the job done. I will work with you to get the job done in a competent and professional manner at a fair and reasonable cost.

WHAT ARE AFFORDABLE
LEGAL SERVICES?
As we are all weathering the effects of post covid life and the financial burdens caused by these inflationery times, I try very diligently to provide services that are financially realistic.
A recent example. I was involved in a significant legal issue that required substantial research and court arguments. I absolutely believed that we were on the winning side of this argument. After a hearing and legal briefs the Court, it is ultimate wisdom, punting the matter down the road to the trial on the ultimate issues. For all intents and purposes, this was a waste of time and I wrote time off accordingly. That's the way I practice law.
On the other side of that coin, I am not a therapist. Your insurance should cover your therapy. If you choose to use my time to vent all of your frustrations, unfortunately I will have to bill you for that time. I always remind clients of this. I want to help but I have my own tool kit and although I need to understand your history, I am not in a position to coach you through life (unless, of course, you want to hire me as a life coach which is another service I offer at much lower rates!)
I offer unbundled or "pay as you go" services as well as payment plans and creative fee arrangements.
Don't put things off because of the economy. Call my office today!
